Abstract

This note reports the first observation in scuba diving of a live adult-sized ambicoloured common sole, Solea solea. The specimen was observed during a 30 m deep dive near a wreck in the eastern English Channel during September 2009. Ambicolouration cases have rarely been recorded in S. solea.
